I came across you when I was working through twitters having just set up a new one myself. I guess it was the addiction thing, as I run a new online recovery community that I was trying to find people to point to.
Anyway, forget all that. Just wanted to say what a great blog, thoughtful and fresh. You don't need to say anything profound (as you mentioned). What you had to say was an enjoyable read.
In your 'About me', you talk about learning something about yourself by writing. I'm sure you will. Several of the people who are now writing blogs on our site have found it very helpful in finding themselves (and in their cases, helping them to start to deal with problems).
Anyway, less rambling. I'm located in Perth, West Australia, but normally in the UK (have escaped the doom and gloom and cold).
Journaling is something I used to do daily, until I became heavily addicted to pain killers. My addiction lasted only a few years and I've been clean & sober since 9.3.04 and still attend recovery meetings.
I lost my hearing, among several things, due to my addiction. It happened quickly over a few months, and I was deaf for a total of 10 months. I received a cochlear implant in Mar. 2005. Since then, I'm re-learning how to hear AND understand everything from everday ordinary sounds to music, and everything in between.
My hopes are to re-discover my love for writing and learn something more about myself and what it is that I really do want with this life I've been given.
oh no! well post again, I'm waiting... your profile looks great. I can't wait to see what you have to say!
